About
Who you are actually hiring
One person, in Ontario, who will tell you when the answer is no
Local AI Guy is Lasse Pettersen. I work from Collingwood and I take work across Ontario, remotely for most of it and in person where the process has to be watched rather than described. I also run Georgian Bay SEO, which is a search marketing business, has been indexed and operating since 2026, and has a verified Google listing you can check. That is the same person and the same phone, and it is on this page because a new domain selling a $999 engagement should tell you where its operator can be found.
The reason this business exists is one figure. Statistics Canada asked businesses not adopting AI why not, and 40.0% said it was not relevant to what they do. In almost every business I have looked at that answer is wrong, and it is wrong in a specific way. The owner is picturing a chatbot on the website, because that is what the marketing shows, and correctly concluding it would not help. Meanwhile somebody in the back office is retyping the same order into two systems 40 times a week.
So the product is a diagnosis, priced low enough that it is not a decision. $999, ten business days, three named jobs with hours and dollars against each, and the fee comes off the build if you want the work done. If you take the document to a different supplier, that is a fine outcome and it is written to survive the trip.
How I work
Every price is published before you call
The assessment is $999. Builds run $2,500 to $12,000 depending on how many systems have to talk to each other, agent work runs higher, and the drivers are named on each service page. A firm that will not give you a number until it has qualified you is not managing complexity. It is measuring what you will pay.
The report is written to be taken elsewhere
It names tools, real subscription costs and build estimates in enough detail that another supplier can quote from it. That is deliberate. An assessment that only makes sense if I do the work is a sales document, and you would be right not to trust its conclusions.
Some businesses should not automate yet
Under about five people the repeated hours often do not pay back a build. A process that lives in one person's head cannot be automated until it is written down, and writing it down frequently fixes most of the problem on its own. I would rather say that at the assessment than take a build fee for it.
Personal information decides the tooling, not the other way round
The Privacy Commissioner's May 2026 finding against OpenAI settled that Canadian privacy law reaches training data, prompts and outputs. If your process touches client health, financial or identity information, that rules some tools out before anybody talks about features.
The other business
I also run Georgian Bay SEO, a search marketing business based in Collingwood. It has an indexed site and a verified Google listing, which means you can check that the person selling you a $999 engagement is a real operator with a traceable history rather than a domain registered last month.
The two businesses are separate and the work does not overlap much. The reason they are named together on this page is that a new domain has no reputation of its own, and the honest way to handle that is to point at the one that does rather than to imply a history this site has not earned yet.
What I will not do
- Publish a case study, a client name or a result I cannot evidence.
- Quote a price after qualifying you rather than before. Every number is on the site.
- Build anything that lets a model issue a decision affecting a person, or produce a number that has to be right, without a named human approving it.
- Recommend a build when the honest answer is that the process needs writing down first, or that the hours do not add up yet.
- Claim a grant approval I do not control. Funding programs are yours to apply for.
Before you spend anything
Tell me how many people work there, what the busiest hour of the week looks like, and which task everybody complains about. That is usually enough to say on a first call whether an assessment is worth your $999 or whether you have one obvious problem that needs one obvious fix.
